Experience
I have a PhD in the sciences, teaching experience at the college level, and several years of experience as a substitute teacher and tutor in K-12, undergraduate, and graduate classes. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities. My primary goal is to make subjects more interesting to students to increase understanding and information retention. I aim to help students gain a working knowledge rather than rely on memorization to survive one test at a time. This helps them learn more on their own as well as see how the information applies in other courses they're taking and is relevant to 'the real world'. I offer intensive individual tutoring to focus on individual students' needs as well as facilitating group tutoring at a reduced rate per student to help students learn to study with and learn from each other more effectively.
